4. the way to cease suffering is to follow the middle way, the Noble Eightfold path.

THE NOBLE EIGHTFOLD PATH:

1. Right understanding. Correct thinking - (reflective in distinction to dogmatic, seeing the world as it truly is).

2. Right Intent - FOCUSED ATTENTION & INTENTION.

3. Right speech. Correct Speech (Is it true, necessary, helpful, kind, compassionate, will it make a difference in someones life? If it is not one of these, then there is no need to speak.)

4. Right Action.

5. Right Livlihood-Making your living in a way that helps improve the QUALITY OF LIFE in the world.

6. Right Effort. Positive attitude.

7. Mindful Awareness (meta-cognition).

8. Right Concentration.
